The view I didn't see last night

Pretty, isn't it? This is the view from the patio at Kingfish, last Tuesday evening.

I wasn't at Girls' Night Out this week, due to a scheduling conflict. I'm sorry I didn't get to see the Ohio River last night. I missed it.

I don't suppose...it missed me back?

  1. Can I ask why you photoshopped the person out? Did they not want to be in the picture? Too revealing of a dress? Your ex-husband? I'm asking here in case you don't look at older comments.

I am sure there is a story to the older picture as well. Somehow, though, when you do that with pictures, it's like messing with history. That's why I quit watching Days of our Lives. In the flashback, Hope was skinny! I remember what happened. I saw it the first time! Hope was NOT skinny.

I'm sure the river was a little sad even if it didn't know why.

  2. Is it just an optical illusion, a trick of the light, or does the river look like it's ready to come over that wall and flood the patio? Sorry you missed girls night out.

  3. Jennifer, I don't remember why I photoshopped the person out of the "king" picture. Something wasn't appropriate, but I don't recall what.

On the OLD picture, I took out a cousin who was visiting from out of state. Once she was out, it was my great grandparents and their descendants on the steps in front of their big house. I still have the original old picture, which is in pretty good shape for its age. But people enjoyed seeing the new version. I suppose it's sort of messing with history. Can we just pretend Cousin Bess stepped out of the group for a minute and the photographer took another shot?

Don't worry about commenting on old posts. All comments come to my email. You won't sneak one by me. ;)

  4. Optical illusion, I guess, Devon. The river wasn't high.

  5. The cousin went to get some tea, I think. That's when the second picture was made.

  6. Yes, she always loved a cup of tea in the afternoon.

  7. I really would like to know what inappropriateness was going on next to the king. Excessive ugliness? Orange shirt? Gene Simmons tongue trick?

  8. Golly, but you're a curious little thing!

How about we pretend Cousin Bess dropped her teacup and has her mouth open in surprise and horror at the mess she's about to make on the king's regalia.

    That work for you, Jennifer?

    ;)

  9. It works well! She must have been thin, as that kid in the back looks like a whole person. Did you create part of him in photoshop?

  10. She wasn't terribly thin, but was coming down the bleachers holding her tea cup, and it started to tip, and she reached forward trying to keep it from spilling--so it's just one arm and her face, and part of her 1918 dress that had to be photoshopped out.

    Still working for you?

  11. You girls are goofy.
Kingfish looks like a place I need to check out. Beautiful pic, Magdalena.

  12. Goofy, you say?!?

Guess what, Jennifer--I took this river picture with my cell phone! Even I can barely believe it.

Next time you're in this area and hungry for fish, definitely try one of the Kingfish locations. (I should ask for some compensation for the constant Kingfish plugs, I think...)

    :)
