Namesake

My friend Jonell recently got a new kitten. She and the family decided to name her Magdalena! What an honor--I'm sure I've never had a namesake before this.

I love how her mascara is all smeary, like mine gets sometimes. But here is how you can tell us apart: The kitten has a different nickname than I do. So if you're in a room with the two of us and call, "Maggie," only one of us should turn around.

  2. I think it's kitten season. ;)

Jennifer, do you know somebody who could invent a miniature cat--a cat that never grows out of the kitten stage? Spot and I would enjoy one of those, I think.

  3. I think Spot would love Maggie. She could help him with his night watch for the wood stove. Come and visit her anytime. Jonell

  5. What an honor, Magdalena. And, wow, what a smart cat. The most my cats do when their name is called is an irritated ear twitch. It's def. kitten season. Why do we have cats on the brain??

Oh, for heavens' sake!!! The word verification is "uticat" WHOA!!!!

  6. I looked up "uticat" on dictionary.com. You know, just in case it was a real word. Nope...not in English anyway. Maybe in Cat Language it is, though, and what if cats really run the verification software...or Google...or the whole internet!?!

Then we're back to the original question you posted on your blog the other day, I guess.

  7. OMG!!! Magdalena could be a twin to my Calliope! They look like sisters and also look to be about the same age. I wonder...

  8. Wouldn't it be funny if they were sisters, or even cousins? I got to hold her today. She is just as sweet as can be. When she's on the ground though, it's constant POUNCING! On everything! And running-running-running!
