1 Short Paragraph from THE BLANK BOOK

In Alice's kitchen, shortly after Mr. Tall-Dark-and-Handsome appears on the scene. He is speaking:

“I’m here because you somehow called me here. I’ve had dreams of Alia and me—I mean, Alia and Drey—for several weeks. Every night it’s the same dream! And every day I think about her and know I have to be with her. I don’t know how I was able to find you or how you’ve been doing this to me, but it’s got to stop. Now!” He pounded the table with his fist, and both mugs jumped. Some of my untouched coffee sloshed out, and I looked at the dark-beige puddle and wondered how my life had gotten this weird.
